Met Gala 2018: All The Best Looks

As I’m sure you’ve already heard, last night was the most fashionable night of the celebrity calendar- The Met Gala. This year, the theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Cue halos and wings galore, giant embroidered crosses and a dramatic take on the Papal garments.

Here are our best dressed film industry personalities of the night:

  1. Amanda Seyfried

Looking heavenly in a flowing golden gown, Anon’s Amanda Seyfried almost floats upon the ground. Coupled with those blonde locks? She could definitely blend in amongst a choir of angels.

2. Chadwick Boseman

I just loooove it when a man goes with the theme and not the standard plain tux cop out. Black Panther‘s Chadwick Boseman kills it in this priestly ensemble, taking the crown for best dressed male in one fell swoop.

3) Hailee Steinfeld

Looking simply angelic in all white, The Edge of Seventeen‘s Hailee Steinfeld perfectly captures the purity of the Catholic values, whilst her crown gives the regal, powerful stature reflected in imagery of our Lady and the Saints. And that Silver trim? beauuuutiful!

4) Jennifer Lopez

The Wedding Planner‘s Jennifer Lopez slays as usual in her intricate Balmain gown. The detail on the cross is stunning, and brings the whole outfit together beautifully. The different textures and colours on this dress make it both simple and complex at the same time- and elevates J Lo into doing what she does best- owning the red carpet.

5) Diane Kruger

With the pale blue so long associated with Our Lady, Inglourious Basterds’ Diane Kruger sails away with this years theme- she looks regal and innocent, her white veil demure, and long train dramatic. She encapsulates both the theme and the spirit of the Met Gala in this outfit.
